Under most of the paintings reproduced here, the artists describe their inspiration for the work and offer various tidbits of technical information.

I would advise any artist to save there money on this and buy another book or books by other better (and well known) artists instead. There are much better artist teachers out there then Chris Unwin. Look for books by Nita Engle, Tony Couch, Ted Kautzky, and John Pike. Other great artist are Sterling Edwards and Tom Lynch both first rate good artists. In particullar Sterlings new book will better help the artist to develop. I own a large amount of books on art as well as DVDs and there many good ones out there this however, is not one of them. One strong word of advise also is to practise your art as much as you can to develop your own style and touch which you don't need a book to teach you.
